Almost just for fun.....

During the installation work on the Fernbank Window, the joiner who built and installed the framework, invited me to build a panel he could then frame, to keep in his workshop and hopefully interest his clients in not just ordering window frames, but some glass to decorate them.  With Open Studios 2019 encouraging me to be in our studio for the duration, it seemed a perfect time to take up the challenge, keep me entertained and be able to demonstrate my craft to visitors.

Part of the reason for not immediately taking up his offer, was what style of panel would be best.... traditional ?  modern?  simple - complex ? bright or muted colours ?  So on the first Sunday of Open Studios I decided I just needed to do it.  I decided on reflection that I would go for a relatively simple and tradstional style.  A picture book to show other styles could complement the actual piece.  Accordingly a design was conceived, sufficient drawing and calculation done to get going and work began.
